About Me
Pando is an organization of organizations named after the one-tree aspen forest in Utah.
Pando is, in fact, the scientific name of the largest organism on Earth, made up of over 47,000 trunks, and millions of leaves, connected through one root system.
It’s the perfect metaphor of radical interconnection—and a darned good name.
We innovate at the intersection of public agencies, culture, and education to implement the goals of Los Angeles County’s sustainability plan. We have our own process for creating impact.
We’re not talking about just talking. The mission of Pando is to organize the ones who create, and build, and fight. The ones who still have hope. To bring them together.
To motivate them to turn hope and enthusiasm into real-world action and ingenious programs to solve huge problems. Like trash, food, homelessness, climate, water, loneliness, extinction, jobs, and sustainability for — and with — the ten million people who call LA home.
In time, we expect the Pando model we're developing in the LA basin to scale to other regions.
