This is the second conference based at The University of Exeter on Philosophy and Psychedelic Studies (talks from the last, online conference can be viewed here).

The conference is part of the wider Exeter University Psychedelic Research Group, details of which can be viewed here. As well as an interdisciplinary colloquium hosting leading figures from the field, this group offers MA and BA modules on philosophy and psychedelics, now open for enrollment. An edited volume from the group, Philosophy and Psychedelics, will be published by Bloomsbury in June 2022.

As well as Exeter academics, such as Prof. Christine Hauskeller, Prof. Celia Morgan, Dr Peter Sjöstedt-Hughes, and Johanna Sopanen, the conference is also organised by a team connected with the Centre for Process Studies that includes Elizabeth Gibson, Dr Lenny Gibson, Alice Dommert, Dr Andrew Davis, and Kyle Buller. Affiliated organisations can be viewed here.

The three keynote speakers will give their talk in-person; the emerging scholars will pre-record their 25-minute talks that can viewed by registrants in advance of the conference that takes place on 28–30 June 2022. These emerging scholars will also form in-person panels that will be interactive with both the on-campus audience and the online registrants.

  • Driven by the principle of relationality and commitment to the common good, the Center for Process Studies (CPS) works on cutting edge discourse across disciplines to promote the exploration of interconnection, change, and intrinsic value as core features of our world. As a faculty-based research center at Claremont School of Theology (CST), CPS conducts research and develops educational resources that explore the implications of these principles on a range of topics (e.g. science, ecology, culture, philosophy, religion, education, psychology, political theory, etc.) in a unique transdisciplinary style that harmonizes fragmented disciplinary thinking in order to develop integrated and holistic modes of understanding. The CPS mission is carried out through academic conferences, courses, and seminars, a robust visiting scholars program, the world’s largest library related to process-relational writings, and an array of publications (including a peer-reviewed journal and a number of active books series).
