Pando Days is the annual flagship program of Pando Populus that brings together educators from the arts, humanities, sciences, and technology to tackle the biggest sustainability challenges facing LA County. And asks them to inspire each other. And their students. And Angelenos. And the world. With ingenious new solutions and plans.
The 2021 season of Pando Days is currently underway, this time involving ten Southland colleges and universities with eleven separate initiatives.
Participating schools address challenges from the County’s sustainability plan that public agencies have identified as most urgent: transportation, shelter, community, and food.
The goals for the community category are:
- Equitable and sustainable land use and development without displacement.
- Accessible parks, beaches, recreational waters, public lands, and public spaces that create opportunities for respite, recreation, ecological discovery, and cultural activities.
Participating schools:
California Institute of the Arts
LA Trade Technical College/Architecture
Otis College of Art and Design
