In this event, Céleste M.E. Hogan will share their ideas about the holistic connections between fundamental physics (both quantum and cosmic), philosophy, and consciousness, and the consequent urgent need for a planetary eco-social revolution. The story of the universe, from the “Big Bang”, 13.8 billion years ago, until now, is a story of unity and diversity, of evolution and complexification, of process and reality. Modern cosmology is also coming to the realization, however, that the “Bing Bang” was not the beginning, and that there are levels of reality beyond space and time, energy and matter – everything, at every level of reality, is connected in a holistic, rhizomic, trans-spatiotemporal relational network of processes, which continue to complexify and emerge into ever more amazing, unique, and beautiful forms. This includes everything from fundamental particles to cells to societies and even whole planetary civilizations. It is now imperative that we become aware of, and begin to live in greater harmony with, these emergent, self-organizing, ecological dynamics, if we are to stave off the imminent collapse of the biosphere and the consequent collapse of human civilization.
