Dear Colleagues,
We are writing as representatives of a small committee concerned with strengthening the process movement. We are addressing you because your organization is part of a large family that stems directly or indirectly from the Center for Process Studies or has been associated closely with the groups that have grown out of process efforts in Claremont. Our belief is that all will benefit from knowing each other better and finding ways to cooperate. If we form a network and create an efficient way to share and promote our events and activities, we will strengthen our voices. We consider a major strength of the process movement to be its close association of theory and practice. Some of us deal with one or the other as a single program, but most of us enjoy feeling that our work is part of a movement that includes both and displays their intimate relation. As we grow more numerous, and sometimes more specialized, it may be well to make our sharing in this wider movement more explicit. We hope that you and others with whom you work agree that this is a worthwhile goal.
Here is what we hope to achieve:
- Come Together: Interest in finding ways to stay connected as part of the process family.
- Interact With Each Other: Create a knowledge sharing and communications platform that we make available in a creative and engaging way. May include things like a shared website, file sharing and annotation, discussion forum, events calendar, and resource lists.
- Dream Together: Hold a yearly conference where we explore the potential of process philosophy together.
To provide a platform and support for our work together, there may be fees involved, however we expect them to be nominal. Smaller organizations would not be turned away if they could not contribute.
What are we asking of you today?
Just let us know if you are interested. That does not commit you to fees or activities. We are just asking you to LET US KNOW if you find it appealing to join us. We hope you do!
Warm Regards,
