SUMMARY:Community and the Common Good: Structuring Human Life for Eco-Civilization
DESCRIPTION:EcoCiv is partnering with One Project to elevate themes of The New Possible through a series of dialogues on global systems change. Our December topic is “Community for the Common Good: Structuring Human Life for an Ecological Civilization” \n\n\n\nFew things are more descriptive of a civilization than the way human communities are organized. It reveals our values\, priorities\, and assumptions about what it means to be human. How should human communities be organized to promote the long-term wellbeing of people and the planet? How will cities be designed? How are resources shared? What are the power dynamics? Who determines policy? How are local communities related to a global community of communities? Exploring a range of interconnected issues from localism\, urban planning\, sustainable development\, and more\, our panel of experts will discuss the need for transforming communities for an ecological civilization. \n\n\n\nThe live\, online event will include a 60-minute moderated panel discussion\, followed by 30 minutes of breakout room discussions for all attendees. Join us to learn more about promising paths for feeding the future. \n\n\n\nPanelists: \n\n\n\nHelena Norberg-Hodge – Founder & Director\, Local Futures and The International Alliance for LocalisationYoungsoo Kim – Associate\, James Corner Field OperationsAlexandra Mitsotaki – Co-Founder & President\, World Human Forum\n\n\n\nRegister Here

SUMMARY:What Are Poets For in the Age of Ecological Civilization: The Contributions of Process Poetry
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the Forum is to bring together creative process poets and process thinkers from US\, China\, Russia\, Europe\, and other countries to share their poems as well as their understanding of process poetry. These poems invite us into a process of being aware and mindful\, open and caring\, self-confident and free. They invite us to imagine communities of love and wonder\, kindness and creativity. Through poetry we explore the possibilities for building what we call compassionate communities and an ecological civilization. We are capable of changing our world\, but first we must imagine together. \n\n\n\n\nrsvp nOW

SUMMARY:CPN Kickoff Celebration
DESCRIPTION:What is the Claremont Process Nexus? A network of organizations and individuals that affirm process-relational ways of understanding and living. \n\n\n\nWho belongs to the Nexus? People who share common views and values\, and desire to live out those views and values in ways that are beneficial to all. \n\n\n\nWhat is the purpose of the Nexus? To bring together anyone in the process movement from anywhere the world in order to increase communications\, facilitate interactions\, and deepen relationships between them. \n\n\n\nWhy join the Nexus? To interact with and learn from like-minded people\, contribute to a collaborative endeavor that is mutually beneficial\, and belong to a community of communities that affirms that we should live with respect and care for one another and the larger community of life. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUnder the leadership of John Cobb and representatives from the Center for Process Studies\, the Institute for Ecological Civilization\, Pando Populus\, and the Cobb Institute\, almost thirty organizations have agreed to participate in a new adventure: the Claremont Process Nexus. In doing so\, the Nexus has become a visible example of what Whitehead called the “creative advance into novelty.” \n\n\n\nOn October 2nd at 10:00 AM Pacific\, we’re hosting an event to celebrate the launch of the Nexus and the opening of the online platform that will be used to facilitate its aims. Please join us as we mark this important development in the history of the process movement. \n\n\n\nRSVP below in order to receive the Zoom meeting information\, and to help us know how many people to expect. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo RSVP click on the “Going” button\, fill in your name and email\, and you will be emailed a confirmation with the Zoom info.

SUMMARY:Reparations: Why and How
DESCRIPTION:We are on the cusp of a major social\, moral and ethical revolution that will transform the African-American community for generations IF PROGRESSIVE ALLIES HELP. This event will provide the why and the how of America’s reckoning with systemic racism and its response. Maulana Karenga\, PhD and Rabbi Steven Jacobs\, hosted by Rev. Louis Chase share the why and how. \n\n\n\nMaulana Karenga will speak to the urgency\, the reckoning and the call to action for what our nation needs to do. He will talk about a new start where all systems are called to work together for people to thrive and for us to create justice for our community. Although money is important\, it alone will not be enough to repair the damage caused by 400 years of systemic racism. \n\n\n\nRabbi Steven Jacobs will bring a historical and biblical account of reparations from a Jewish perspective. \n\n\n\n$15 for adults and $5 for students \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW
